$30,000 to family after child’s injury on playground

An elementary school student’s leg was cut to the bone after tripping on a rock that protruded from the ground at a school playground. After taking the case, Mr. Cabe filed open records requests to obtain the playground’s contract and building specifications. Mr. Cabe learned that the at fault party was required in official contract to fully excavate the ground where the playground was built. This was in order to rid it from sharp impediments lying just beneath the surface. The owner cut corners to save money, and this excavation never happened. Mr. Cabe exposed the attempt to save money at the risk of child safety, and recovered $30,000 in money damages for the family.
