A middle Georgia man faced numerous State indictments in addition to a federal investigation for drug charges. After prosecutors attempted to keep the man in jail by improperly removing an old case from the “dead docket,” attorney Robert Cabe filed a speedy trial demand. This resulted in the State turning over evidence that had been withheld for over a year. On the eve of trial, the State agreed to a plea deal which resulted in State prison time. However, as a result of the deal and sentence, federal agencies agreed to forego federal prosecution.
